Cookies

The cookies PepFinder sets, what each one is for, and how to change your analytics choice.

Cookies the site needs

pf_session keeps you signed in, if you have an account. pf_supplier remembers which supplier a supplier account is managing. pf_market remembers your country for supplier lists and prices: on your first visit it is set from the country your connection comes from (the country only; nothing else about the connection is kept), and it changes to whatever you pick in the region menu. These are needed for the site to work as you asked and are not used for tracking.

Analytics cookies

Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_ cookies so we can count visits and see which pages are useful. They last up to two years. Advertising features and Google signals are switched off. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s opt-out add-on, and the site works the same without them.

Measuring visits without cookies

We count page views and where visits come from (for example, a search engine) with Vercel Web Analytics, run by our hosting provider, and with our own counters. Neither sets cookies or stores anything in your browser, and neither identifies you: visits are counted as anonymous daily totals.

Counting clicks and views

Separately, we count profile views and clicks to supplier websites as anonymous daily totals so suppliers can see how many visitors we send. This uses no cookies. To count each visitor once a day we use a one-way code made from the connection details, which changes daily and is never stored against a page view; no names, email addresses or IP addresses are kept.
