  1. FDA advisory committee reviews BPC-157, TB-500 and five other peptides for compounding

    On 23 and 24 July 2026 the FDA's Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee met to consider whether seven peptides, including BPC-157 and TB-500, should be added to the list of bulk substances US pharmacies may compound with. FDA's own briefing papers proposed that none of them be added. The committee's advice is not binding, and FDA has not announced a decision.

  2. Medsafe warns New Zealanders that unapproved peptides are illegal to import, sell or use

    On 21 May 2026 Medsafe, New Zealand's medicines regulator, issued a consumer advisory on unapproved peptide products and SARMs, naming BPC-157, retatrutide, TB-500 and others. It said many of these products are prescription medicines, that "for research purposes only" labels have no legal effect, and that Medsafe continues to seize them.

  3. BPC-157, TB-500 and other peptides leave FDA's category 2 list after nominations are withdrawn

    FDA's list of compounding substances that "may present significant safety risks" now has a separate section for 17 substances, including BPC-157, TB-500 and CJC-1295, whose nominations were withdrawn. The move reflects what the nominators did, not a finding by FDA that the peptides are safe. None of them is approved or on the list of substances pharmacies may compound with.
