Regulatory status
Liraglutide is the active ingredient of prescription-only medicines approved in many countries. Material sold as a 'research' product is not an approved medicine.
In Australia the regulator is the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). Rules on buying, importing and using this product differ by country. Suppliers list it for laboratory research; nothing here is medical advice.

What Liraglutide is
Liraglutide is a once-daily GLP-1 receptor agonist peptide from Novo Nordisk, sold as Victoza for type 2 diabetes and as Saxenda for weight management, with generic versions approved in the US since December 2024. It is a licensed, prescription-only medicine with more than fifteen years of clinical use, including the 9,340-patient LEADER cardiovascular trial. A vial of liraglutide sold online as a “research” product is not Victoza, Saxenda or a generic, and is not a licensed medicine. Read the full Liraglutide guide, with the published research and references.
Before you choose a Liraglutide supplier
Price per mg is only half the comparison. Check that the supplier publishes a certificate of analysis for the batch it is selling, ideally from an independent laboratory, and that the certificate confirms identity as well as purity: our guide on how to read a COA shows what to look for. A price far below the rest of the list is more often a warning than a bargain; peptide prices explained sets out why.
For what Liraglutide is and what published studies have found, see our Liraglutide guide. Handling questions are covered in how to store peptides, and the peptide calculator converts a vial size and water volume into concentration and syringe units. Checking a Liraglutide certificate of analysis
- The certificate names a laboratory you can find independently, and ideally one with no stake in the result.
- It carries a batch or lot number that matches the product page or the vial label, and a test date.
- It confirms identity by mass spectrometry, not only purity by HPLC. Purity alone does not show the vial contains Liraglutide.
- It includes the chromatogram and mass spectrum, not just a summary table.
- Where the laboratory offers online verification of its reports, the report number checks out.
Red flags
- No certificates at all, or certificates available only “on request”.
- The same certificate used for several products or several years of stock.
- Payment only by cryptocurrency or bank transfer, with a discount for paying that way.
- A price far below every other supplier on this page.
- No company name, address or way to contact the business other than a web form.
- Vials labelled only with a code rather than the product name and strength.
How to spot a fake peptide supplier explains each of these in more detail, and third-party peptide testing covers what independent results can and cannot prove.
Vials, capsules and pre-mixed products
Most research peptides are sold as freeze-dried (lyophilised) powder in sealed vials, which is mixed with a diluent such as bacteriostatic water before use in the lab. Some suppliers also sell pre-mixed solutions, nasal sprays or capsules under the same name. These are different products with different stability and dosing, so compare price per mg only between the same form, and check which form a listing is before comparing it with the rest of the table.
Liraglutide in Australia: questions
Where can I buy Liraglutide in Australia?
None of the suppliers PepFinder tracks currently list Liraglutide for Australia.
Is it legal to buy Liraglutide in Australia?
Most common research peptides, including BPC-157, TB-500, ipamorelin and CJC-1295, are prescription-only (Schedule 4) in Australia, and the TGA says research-use-only disclaimers do not make their supply lawful. Our page on whether peptides are legal in Australia sets out the rules with a link to every source. This is general information, not legal advice.
Can Liraglutide be shipped to Australia?
Importing a prescription-only medicine, including by post, needs a valid Australian prescription at the time of import; imports without one are seized, and unlabelled or code-only vials are destroyed. Each supplier on this page shows where it is based, so you can see whether an order would cross a border.
How do I check a Liraglutide supplier's test results?
Ask for a certificate of analysis for the batch being sold, and check that it names the laboratory, the batch number and the test date, and that it confirms identity by mass spectrometry as well as purity by HPLC. PepFinder has not yet collected certificates for Liraglutide from these suppliers, so check each supplier's own site.
How this list is built: suppliers appear because they list Liraglutide on their own website, read by our catalogue checks; nobody pays to be included or to move up. Ranking is by PepFinder Score. Prices, sizes and stock are as each site listed them when checked and may have changed. scores are based on incomplete research.
