Tesofensine is a small-molecule drug, not a peptide, that blocks the reuptake of noradrenaline, dopamine and serotonin in the brain. It was developed for Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease, failed there, and was redirected to obesity after trial participants lost weight; a 2008 phase 2 trial reported about 10% weight loss over 24 weeks, but the trial was later the subject of an expression of concern and an author correction about under-reported adverse effects. As of September 2026 it is not an approved medicine anywhere we could confirm, it is prohibited in competition by WADA, and it is sold online as a supplement and as a “research” product, neither of which is a licensed medicine. Most research peptides are sold as freeze-dried (lyophilised) powder in sealed vials, which is mixed with a diluent such as bacteriostatic water before use in the lab. Some suppliers also sell pre-mixed solutions, nasal sprays or capsules under the same name. These are different products with different stability and dosing, so compare price per mg only between the same form, and check which form a listing is before comparing it with the rest of the table.
