Triptorelin is a synthetic analogue of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) in which one amino acid, glycine at position 6, is replaced by D-tryptophan. Given as a monthly, three-monthly or six-monthly depot injection it switches off the production of testosterone or oestrogen, and it is a licensed prescription medicine for advanced prostate cancer, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, central precocious puberty and, in the UK, premenopausal breast cancer. It first stimulates and then suppresses the pituitary, which is why it is also sold by research vendors for a single-dose “post-cycle therapy” use that has never been tested in a trial. Most research peptides are sold as freeze-dried (lyophilised) powder in sealed vials, which is mixed with a diluent such as bacteriostatic water before use in the lab. Some suppliers also sell pre-mixed solutions, nasal sprays or capsules under the same name. These are different products with different stability and dosing, so compare price per mg only between the same form, and check which form a listing is before comparing it with the rest of the table.

Ask for a certificate of analysis for the batch being sold, and check that it names the laboratory, the batch number and the test date, and that it confirms identity by mass spectrometry as well as purity by HPLC.
