ACE-031 (ramatercept) is a fusion protein made from the outer part of the activin receptor type IIB joined to the Fc portion of human IgG1. It works as a decoy, soaking up myostatin and related proteins that limit muscle growth. A single dose increased lean mass in healthy volunteers, but a trial in boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy was stopped in 2011 over nosebleeds and dilated skin blood vessels, development ended, and most products sold under the name have been found to contain a different protein. Most research peptides are sold as freeze-dried (lyophilised) powder in sealed vials, which is mixed with a diluent such as bacteriostatic water before use in the lab. Some suppliers also sell pre-mixed solutions, nasal sprays or capsules under the same name. These are different products with different stability and dosing, so compare price per mg only between the same form, and check which form a listing is before comparing it with the rest of the table.
